Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Conversion Specialist with deep expertise in LMS (Learning Management System) migrations and advanced data conversion skills. In this contract role, you will lead the migration of learning records, content, and offline histories from legacy learning platforms into Workday Learning. This is a highly technical position requiring strong SQL skills, a keen eye for data integrity, and hands-on experience with learning data management.

The right candidate will be a problem-solver who thrives on untangling complex data challenges and ensuring seamless transitions for enterprise learning environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end data migrations from legacy LMS platforms and offline sources into Workday Learning.

  • Query, analyze, and combine data from multiple systems to prepare accurate migration datasets.

  • Troubleshoot load failures and resolve data migration issues to ensure successful imports.

  • Verify post-migration integrity through rigorous data validation and quality checks.

  • Collaborate with HR, Learning, and IT stakeholders to understand data structures, dependencies, and requirements.

  • Manually build, upload, and organize learning content objects in Workday Learning as needed.

  • Document processes and recommend improvements for future migrations.

  • Support ad hoc learning data integration projects.

Job requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with LMS data migrations (Workday Learning highly desirable).

  • Advanced data conversion skills with proven SQL expertise; ETL experience a plus.

  • Strong understanding of learning data dependencies (completions, transcripts, certifications, curricula, content hierarchies).

  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in resolving data load failures and inconsistencies.

  • Experience manually building/editing learning content within LMS platforms.

  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational abilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Hands-on experience with Workday Learning or other cloud-based LMS platforms.

  • Background in HRIS integrations or HR technology deployments.

  • Experience implementing On-the-Job training (OJT) activities for hourly production employees.

  • Familiarity with GDPR and data privacy standards related to learning data.

  • Experience migrating offline content and records into digital systems.
