Job description

Job Title: QA Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Review courses and create bug reports.

  • Participate in Quality Plan, RCA, project review, and project huddle meetings.

  • Identify wastes and eliminate them.

  • Meet commitments and if not possible, inform in advance with alternatives.

  • Create effort estimations and identify the number of resource required.

  • Maintain data of projects, team, and self.

  • Coach and mentor team.

  • Communicate with both internal and external clients.

  • Conduct team huddles, training, and interviews.

  • Perform testing/audits against test cases and from user perspective.

  • Verify and analyze client feedback.

  • Validate documents at each testing stage (Handover document, self-review sign-offs and logs).

  • Share bug reports with the development team.

  • Regress addressed bugs.

  • Adhere to the defined QC processes.

  • Prioritize tasks and ensure the deliverables are met.

  • Meet and exceed customer expectations.

  • Anticipate potential problems and create alternatives.

Job requirements

Skillset required:

Candidates should be able to

  • Understand client requirements and translate them into test cases.

  • Understand and execute test cases.

  • Find bugs and describe them in a concise and clear manner and in customer-facing language.

  • Create test logs.

  • Understand LMS behavior.

  • Understand different accents.

  • Understand client requirements and share correct inputs to client accordingly.

  • Plan and prioritize tasks.

  • Utilize team optimally.

  • Understand ripple effects.

  • Manage people in the team (people issues, skilling, training, etc.).

  • Do RCA

Candidates should be able to find bugs against the following scope:

  • Functionality

  • Layout

  • Content mapping

  • Read-through (for blatant and logical issues and project-specific standards)

  • Formatting

  • Audio (mapping and synching)

  • OST (mapping and synching)

  • Accessibility testing against WCAG guidelines

  • Candidates should have good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Candidates should have good problem-solving skills.

  • Candidates should have good presentation skills.
